SEASON OF GIVING AND RECEIVING |
|
This is the season of gift giving and also of receiving. I remembered the homily of a funny priest in my Parish. Just for you to imagine him, he looks so much like a bald Mr. Bean. He said that we have to be thankful for all the gifts we will receive this Christmas. Then he continues by telling us that he received a gift last Christmas. He opened the gift and to his surprise it was a comb. If you do not want the gift you get this season these are good things you can say to the one who gives to you. “This is perfect for wearing around the basement.” “Gosh. I hope this never catches fire! It is fire season though. There are lots of unexplained fires.” “If the dog buries it, I'll be furious!” “I love it -- but I fear the jealousy it will inspire.” “Sadly, tomorrow I enter the Federal Witness Protection Program.” “To think -- I got this the year I vowed to give all my gifts to charity.” And the Number One Thing to say about a Christmas gift you don't like: "I really don't deserve this." This Christmas we receive the greatest gift of all - Jesus. Let us show our thankfulness by sharing Him to others. May Jesus be born in your family this season. Your bro Arun

Give God What HE Deserves |

I AM GLAD THAT GOD IS NOT LIKE MOST OF US.
He is not stingy. He is amazingly generous. He has given us everything we need, it is just up to us to receive them. And He orders us to be like Him. God wants His children to be as generous as He is.
I have this crazy idea.
What if the offertory basket during the Mass will have these interesting features: When you put a big a amount of money, it will not make a sound at all. But if you drop a P10 coin it tinkles like a bell. If you place a P5 coin, it blows a whistle. If you put just P1, everyone will hear a gunshot. When you put nothing, the basket takes your picture.
